I put it into text form in case you want to be extra thorough or messed with a lot of steam controller config settings trying to get this to work like I did.
Tl dr you should be able to follow this video and be fine, that's what I did: Thankfully it's not too bad and is only the stick controlling the camera and not Kena herself But I recently cleaned it so I'm guessing it's the jank compatibility with epic/this game specifically lol. Also you might experience some drift, unless that's just my controller. Idk what that's about but I don't really care lol. Just don't press the home button, for some reason it disables all inputs excepts the joysticks which only control your view as if they're your mouse for a few seconds before returning to normal. Then under the "Steam Input Per-Game Setting" drop down menu, choose "Global Setting (Switch)"įrom there you can exit big picture mode and go ahead and launch epic games through steam, then start up kena through epic games and the controller SHOULD work just fine.
"Allow Desktop Configuration in Launcher" and "Enable Overlay on Non-Steam Game" Then under "controller options" make sure the top two boxes are checked. Under "controller configuration" you can map the buttons to your liking though for this game the "Gamepad for nintendo switch pro controller" is probably best. While in big picture mode, go to your library and find "Epic Games Launcher" then click "manage shortcut"
Then check the "Switch Pro Configuration Support" box as well as the "Use Nintendo Button Layout" box (optional but recommended) Make sure it recognizes your controller under "detected controllers". Once added, open Steam in big picture mode and go to the controller settings. Next add your Epic Games Launcher as a "non-steam game" Then right click Steam and open as administrator You can thank Joel Haver for showing me the light with this video: įirst connect your pro controller to your PC via Bluetooth or cable. Alright, so after hours and hours of pain and suffering, I now feel it is my duty to share my findings with any future strugglers.
